Said bill being upon a second reading,

The question recurring upon the amendment to strike out
the 7th section,

It was adopted.

Mr. Legg submitted the following amendments :

Strike out the 2d, 3d, 4th, 5th, 6th and 8th sections.

Which were severally read and adopted.

Mr. Coudy submitted the following amendment:

Strike out section 9.

Which was rejected.

Mr. Williams submitted the following amendments :

Section 9, line 6, strike out the word "county" and in-
sert the words, public school fund ; line 8, strike out the
words "six months," and insert the words thirty days ; line
11, strike out the words "Maryland Penitentiary" and in-
sert the words county jail; strike out the words "less than,"
and insert the words more than ; strike out in said section
all after the word "months," and insert the words at the
discretion of the Court.

Which were severally read and adopted.

Mr. Iglehart submitted the following amendments :

Section 9, line 5, strike out the words "four hundred,"
and insert the words one hundred and fifty ; strike out the
words "five hundred dollars," and insert the words one hun-
dred and fifty.

Which were severally read and adopted.

Mr. Iglehart submitted the following amendment:

Strike out section 10.

Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Colton,

The further consideration of the bill was indefinitely
postponed.

The bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Havre-de-Grace
Ferry Company,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to amend Article 21 of the Code
of Public Local Laws, entitled Washington county, by add-
ing thereto further sections,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The hill entitled an Act to incorporate the Monumental
Permanent Building and Land Society of Baltimore,
