Mr. Bond of Baltimore city, submitted the following
order:
Ordered, That the Judges of the Court of Appeals, be re-
quested to inform this House, whether the State Reporter has
reported and published all the cases designated hy said court
to be reported, within six months from the time when the
same shall have been determined, as required by the Act of
1867, chapter 410 ; and if said duty has not been performed,
to state the cause of delay, and in what condition the reports
are, at this time, whether in a state of preparation, or other-
wise; and where the fault, if any, lies, for the non-observance
of the law, and what expectation may be had for a future
compliance therewith;
Which was adopted.
On motion of Mr. Chapman,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
report a bill, amending Section 1, Article 28, Code Public
General Laws, entitled County Commissioners, and re-enact
the same with amendments.
On motion of Mr. Nicolai,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to re-
port a bill to incorporate the Pikesville Railroad Company.
On motion of Mr. Nicolai,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and Means to
report a bill to make an appropriation to the St. Vincent
Infant Asylum.
On motion of Mr. McElroy,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to in-
troduce a bill, repealing Sections 5, 8 and 14, of Public
General Laws, relating to Mortgages, and to enact other
sections in lieu thereof.
Also, leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary
to introduce a bill, repealing Sections 2 and 4 of Article 80,
of the Code of Public General Laws, relating to the State
Reporter, as the same are re-enacted by Chapter 120 of the
Acts of the January Session, 1865, and enacting other sec-
tions in place thereof.
On motion of Mr. Colton,
Leave wras granted to the Committee on Corporations to in-
troduce a bill to incorporate the Peoples' Ferry, Towing and
Transportation Company of Baltimore.
On motion of Mr. Colton,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to in-
troduce a bill to exempt Irom distraint for rent, hired pianos,
musical instruments and sewing machines.
