Mr. Bond, of Baltimore city, submitted the following
amendment:

In line5, section 2, strike out the word "ten," and insert
five.

To come in alter end of line 5, section 2, "And to the
order of Mrs. Peyton Harrison, Mrs. Wm. M. Merrick, Mrs.
T. Parkin Scott, Mrs. W. W. Spence, Mrs. Sophia C. Reed,
Mrs. Charles J. Baker, Miss Frick, or any three of them, oi
the 'Ladies' Depository' of Baltimore, the sum of five thous-
and dollars."

The question being upon the adoption of the amend-
ment,

Mr. Nicolai moved that the enacting clause of the bill be
stricken out.
