Mr. Fooks, Chairman of a select committee, reported
favorably

Senate bill entitled an Act to provide for an additional
Justice of the Peace in District No. 2, (Quantico,) in
Wicomico county.

Which was read a second time and ordered to be en-
grossed for a third reading.

Also,

Senate bill entitled an Act to widen and improve the pub-
lic roads in Wicomico county.

Which was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed
for a third reading.

Mr. Loker, Chairman of a select committee, reported fa-
vorably

Senate bill entitled an Act to create the office of Wood
Corder, of Leonardtown.

Which was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed
for a third reading.

Mr. Harden. Chairman of a select committee, reported fa-
vorably

Senate hill entitled an Act to repeal section 21, of Article
7, of the Code ol Public Local Laws, of Carroll county, enti-
tled "Justices of the Peace and Constables," and to re-enact
the same with amendments.

Which was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed
for a third reading.

The Secretary of the Senate returned the following bills,
severally

Endorsed " Passed by yeas and nays :"

A bill entitled an Act supplementary to, and amenda-
tory of an Act passed at the present session of the General
Assembly of Maryland, entitled an Act to amend the charter
of the Cumberland and Pennsylvania Rail Road Company,
passed at January session., 1849, chapter 469.

A bill entitled an Act to protect clams and shell fish in
Worcester county.

Mr. Latrobe, Chairman of the Committee on Ways and
Means, reported favorably

The Senate hill entitled an Act for the relief of the South-
ern people through the agency of the Ladies Southern In-
dustrial Association, and Ladies Southern Relief Association
of Baltimore city.
