1050 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 24,

TUESDAY, March 24th, 1868.

The House met, and was opened with prayer by the Rev.
Mr. Burke.

Present at the call of the roll the following members :

Messrs. Stewart, (Sp'r) Loker, Beck, Hammond, Iglehart,
Deale, Bond, of Calvert, Dalrymple, Mitchell, Chapman,
Nicolai, Slingluff, Montague, Poteet, Biddison, Rose, Lowe,
Corbin, Horsey, Percy, Stewart, of Dorchester, Johnson,
Davis, of Cecil, Touchstone, Mearns, Keech, Guy, Williams,
Legg, Holloway, Smith, of Worcester, Albaugn, Dutrow,
Bowlus, Maynard, Byers, Silver, Nelson, Vandiver, Brown,
Moore, Hubbard, Sanner, Wentz, Robb, Morse, Blake,
Latrobe, Pentland, Smith, of Baltimore city, Bond, of Balti-
more city, Colton, Chaisty, McElroy, Harig, Markland, Mar-
shall, Conway, Coudy, Herbert, Rohrer, Seibert, Riggs,
Offutt, Conley, McCulloh, Kean, Trimble, Worthington,
Harden, Clark, Fooks, Hopkins—72.

Mr. Colton submitted the following order :

Ordered, that the Chairman of the Committee on Claims
issue his certificate in favor of the Rev. Mr. Hammond, the
Rev. Father Burke, the Rev. Mr. Cronin, the Rev. Mr.
Leech, and the Rev. Mr. Henderson each, for the sum of one
hundred dollars, for officiating as chaplains to this House
during the present session.

Which was read.

Mr. Biddison submitted the following amendment :

"Strike out the name of Rev. Mr. Leech."

Which was rejected.

The order was then adopted.

Mr. Bond, of Baltimore city, submitted the following
order :

Ordered, That Mr. Mullin have leave of absence for this
day.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Colton, Chairman of the Committee on Claims, re-
ported favorably the Senate bill entitled an Act to refund to
B. B. Bush, late collector of State taxes in Baltimore county,
monies erroneously paid into the State Treasury by him in
the years 1864, 1865 and 1866.
