The hill entitled an Act for the relief of Dr. John C.
Parker, and other citizens of Calvert county.
Which was read a first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Claims.
Also,
The bill entitled an Act -to repeal sections 44, 45 and 46,
of Article 16, of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled
Prince George's County, under head of Collectors, and sec-
tions 47, 48 and 49, additional sections to said Article under
same head, enacted by Act of 1864, chapter 326, and to
re-enact the same with amendments and additions.
Which was read a first time and referred to the Prince
'George's county delegation.
Also, returned the following House bills, severally en-
dorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays:"
A bill entitled an Act to amend the charter of the Midlo-
thian Coal and Iron Company.
Also,
A hill entitled an Act to authorize and empower the
Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, and the County Com-
missioners of Washington county, to waive the liens acquired
by them respectively, under a mortgage heretofore executed
to the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, by the Western
Maryland Rail Road Company, in trust, to indemnify the
said Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, and the County
Commissioners of Washington county, upon their endorse-
ments, respectively, upon the second mortgage bonds of said
Company.
Also,
A bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Savings' Institu-
tion of Sandy Spring, Maryland.
The House then resumed the consideration of the unfinished
business of the morning,
Being the bill entitled an Act supplementary to an Act
authorizing the County Commissioners of Baltimore county,
if they, in their judgment, consider the claim just and fair,
to levy a tax upon the First Election District of said county,
as the same was limited and defined on the first day of May,
1833, for the payment of the debt contracted by the Com-
missioners of Public Schools under the Act of 1832. chapter
287, passed January session, 1856, chapter 172.
Said bill being upon a second reading.
The question recurring upon the motion submitted by Mr.
Slingluff, to refer the bill to the Baltimore county delegation
