The bill, as amended,

Was then read a second time and ordered to be engrossed
for a third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to repeal section 9 of Article 19 of
the Code of Public Local Laws, title Somerset county, sub-
title Almshouse, and enact the following in lieu thereof,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to authorize and require the
County Commissioners of Baltimore county to grant a lot of
ground to the Board of School Commissioners of Balti-
more county to be used for a public school house site,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to add an additional section to
Article 19 of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled Somer-
set county, so as to provide the manner and time for the ap-
pointment, and the terms of office of the supervisors of roads
in said county,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to repeal, amend, and re-enact
section 4. chapter 152, of an Act passed March 21st, 1867,
entitled an Act to appropriate $100,000 for the relief of the
destitute people in the States wasted by civil war,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to repay certain soldiers, and the
widows of soldiers who served in the war of 1812, which bill
prescribes that no greater sum shall be paid to the person
named than eighty dollars per annum,

Being on a second reading,

Mr. Hammond submitted the following amendment :

Section 1, line 15, after the word "Wells" insert the
words, Catharine Hurdle, widow of Robert Hurdle.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Stewart, of Dorchester, submitted the following
amendment:

Section 1, line 22, after the word 'Travers" insert the words
Kitmah Johnson, widow of Hambletoa Johnson.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Slingluff submitted the following amendment :
