SCHOOLS.

AN ACT to authorize the Levy Court of Worcester County to draw from
the Treasury, or any of the Banks of the State, any amount of Money
which now is, or may be allotted by the Treasurer of this State, for the
purposes of education in Worcester County. — 1831, ch. 187.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That it shall be the duty of the levy court of Worcester
county, on or before the first Monday in July next, to appoint
five discreet and suitable persons residing on the east side of
the Pocomoke river in said county, to act as commissioners,
whose duty it shall be or a majority of them, to assemble at
some convenient place, on or before the first Monday of Sep-
tember next, and to proceed to divide that part of Worcester
county, lying on the east side of said river, into a suitable and

convenient number of school districts, and it shall also be the
duty of the levy court aforesaid to appoint five suitable and
