CONSTABLES— COUNTY COURT— ELECTIONS.

CONSTABLES.
An ACT relating to Constables' Fees in Worcester County, and for other
purposes.— 1835, ch. 66.

WHEREAS, some sections of the county are very remote
from the jail, thereby subjecting the constables to great incon-
venience, and the compensation not adequate to the labour per-
formed in the delivering over to the jailor, persons committed ;
therefore,

Preamble.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and after the passage of this act all constables in
Worcester county, shall be entitled to receive, in addition to
the fifty cents now allowed, six and a fourth cents, for each
mile travelled in going to deliver over to the jailor of Wor-
cester county, any person on commitment in any case civil
or criminal.

Mileage
allowed.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That whenever any constable
shall find it necessary to summon any person on commitment,
he shall be requited to summon a constable if there is one
convenient, and whenever a constable or any other person
shall be summoned for the purpose of so aiding and assisting,
he shall be entitled to fifty cents as a compensation for his ser-
vices, to be taxed in the costs against the defendant.

COUNTY COURT.
AN ACT to alter the time of holding the Spring Term of Worcester
County Court.— 1829, ch. 79.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and after the passage of this act, the county court of
Worcester county, shall be held on the first Monday of May,
and the second Monday of November, in each and every year
hereafter, and that all causes, pleas, process and proceedings,
civil and criminal, now depending in the said county court, or
hereafter to be issued therefrom, which are or may be return-
able to the second Monday of May, shall be returnable to the
first Monday of May.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all laws heretofore passed,
which directed the county court of Worcester county to be
held on any other days than those above directed, be, and the
same are hereby repealed.

ELECTIONS.
AN ACT to confirm an Act, entitled, an Act to alter and repeal all such
parts of the Constitution and Form of Government of this State as relate
to the division of Worchester County into Election Districts, passed at
December session, eighteen hundred and twenty-seven, chapter fifty.
1828, ch. 17.

Repeal.

SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That the levy court of Worcester
county shall, according to the provisions of the act of eighteen
