SEC. 13. And be it enacted, That the said commissioners
shall be entitled to receive two dollars per day each, for each

to travel to the place of meeting of the said commissioners ;
Provided, that nothing herein contained shall be so construed
as to allow the said county commissioners mileage after the
first day's attendance, whenever said commissioners shall
adjourn from day to day for the transaction of business.

SEC. 14. And be it enacted, That all suits at law, or in
equity, which may be pending at the time of the passage of
this act, by, or against the justices of the levy court of said
county, shall be carried on in like manner, and have the same
legal effect, cither in favour of, or against the commissioners
provided for by this act, as if said suit or suits had been insti-
tuted by or against the said commissioners.

SEC. 15. And be it enacted, That so much of any acts of
assembly as may be contrary to, or inconsistent with this act,
be, and the same are hereby repealed.

duties of the Levy Court, and Trustees of the Poor of Worcester
County.— 1838, ch. 101.

Authority
to grant
pensions
repealed.
|
SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That all laws heretofore passed, authorizing or empowering
the levy court, or trustees of the poor of Worcester county, to
grant pensions by way of county assessment, be and the same
are hereby repealed, any law or usage to the contrary notwith-
standing.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That nothing in this act
shall be so construed as to deprive the trustees as aforesaid,
from granting any allowance or pension in their discretion,
when the applicant for such allowance or pension shall be
confined to his or her bed with disease at the time of said
application.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That the act of assembly
passed December session eighteen hundred and twenty-nine,
chapter one hundred and eight, be, and the same is hereby
repealed.
