WORCESTER COUNTY.

hundred and five, chapter ninety-seven, appoint three persons
in each of the election districts, residents therein, who, or
such of them as shall attend, shall be judge or judges of the
election for the district for which he or they shall have been
appointed as aforesaid ; and the judges appointed, shall have,
hold and exercise, the same powers and authorities, and shall
be subject to the same penalties, as the judges of elections ia
Worcester county now exercise and enjoy and are subject to.

Laws de-

in force.

SEC. 9. And be it enacted, That all laws now in force; not
inconsistent with the provisions of this act, are hereby declared
to be and remain in full force and effect in Worcester county.

Repeal.

SEC. 10. And be it enacted, That all the provisions of any
former act, inconsistent with, or repugnant to this act, be and
the same are hereby repealed.
The other parts of this act relate to the division of the election districts.
None of like character are reprinted among the laws.

AN ACT to fix the Compensation of Judges and Clerks of Elections, in
and for Worcester County. — 1831, ch. 188.

Compensa-
tion filed.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and after the passage of this act, judges and clerks
of elections respectively, in and for Worcester county, shall
perform the duties required by law now in force, and shall be
allowed and entitled to receive for each election, at which he
shall attend, and for making the returns, the sum of three dol-
lars per day, to be levied and paid as other charges, any law,
usage or custom to the contrary notwithstanding.

Levy

directed.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That the levy court are autho-
rized and empowered to levy any sum, which in their judg-
ment they shall think right, for a compensation for any house
in which the election may be held; Provided, that the sum
shall not exceed seven dollars in any one case.
