SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said trustees shall make
return in writing to the commissioners of Somerset county, in
the month of December In each year, setting forth the amount
of money received by them in their respective school districts

the amount of their subscriptions Respectively, the number of
scholars taught, and the length of time occupied in the same,
and the amount paid by them for tuition.

Particulars.
|
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the commissioners of Somer-
set county be, and they are hereby required, as soon as they
may receive an authentic copy of this act, to appoint some
suitable person to take charge of the funds they may receive
from the state for educational purposes, who shall be styled,
the Treasurer of the School Fund of Somerset County ; who,
before he shall enter upon the discharge of his duties, shall

give bond with security or securities to be approved by the
said commissioners conditioned for the faithful performance of

his duties as treasurer ; and said treasurer shall receive, safely
keep, and by the order of the county commissioners disburse
all the moneys that may come into his hands for the purposes of
common school education in Somerset county ; and shall make
an annual statement in writing to- the county commissioners,
of all the money or moneys received and disbursed by him,
when said money was received, to whom and in what amounts

disbursed, and said treasurer shall be entitled, by way of com-
pensation, to deduct three per cent, out of all moneys received
by him, for his own use.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted. That the treasurer of the western
shore be, and he is hereby authorized and required to pay over
to the treasurer of the common school fund of Somerset county,
or his order, all sum or sums of money which are now, or may
hereafter be apportioned to Somerset county out of the common
or free school fund or funds of the state, or which may be ap-
portioned to said county out of the interest in the state's por-
tion of the surplus fund of the United States, or which said
county may be entitled to receive from the state, for common
school purposes from any fund whatever.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That the commissioners of So-
merset county be, and they are hereby required to cause this
net to be published in both the newspapers printed in said
county, for three successive weeks previous to the first Mon-

day in June next; and the said county commissioners, to
whom the bills for printing the same shall be presented, shall
levy the same upon the county, as in other cases of county
expenses.

Payment

SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That this act shall have no force
or operation until the first Monday of June next.
