PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY.

Levy to

compensate
messenger
of C. court.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the justices aforesaid, shall
levy and assess on the assessable properly of said county, such
sum annually as they may deem a sufficient compensation to
the messenger of the county court of said county, which sum
shall be collected and paid as other county charges; and shall
pay to the present messenger by levy as aforesaid, such sum
as to them may seem proper, or as the county court may
direct.

To appoint
clerk to
levy court.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the justices aforesaid, at
their meeting to be held in April next, ensuing the passage of
this act, shall, and they are hereby directed to appoint a clerk
to said court at such salary as to them shall seem proper and

just, who shall hold said office during good behaviour; Pro-
vided nevertheless, that if the said clerk shall fail or neglect
to discharge the duties of his said office, faithfully, diligently
and with punctuality, that then, and in that event, the said
justices are authorized and empowered to dismiss the said
clerk, and direct suit to be brought on his official bond, if
necessary.

Case of
vacancy.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That in the event of the death,
resignation or dismissal of the said clerk, the said justices
shall proceed as soon as convenient to fill said vacancy in the
manner prescribed in this act.

AN ACT to alter the time for holding the Levy Court of Prince George's
County, for the purpose of hearing Appeals and noting Transfers of
Property, and for increasing the pay of the Members of said Court.
1834, ch. 125.

Time fixed.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the levy court of Prince George's county, be, and they
are hereby directed to meet on the fourth Monday in April
next, and annually thereafter, on the same day, for the pur-
pose [of] hearing appeals and noting transfers of property, and
shall continue in session (exclusive of Sundays) for twelve
days.

Pay fixed.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That from and after the fourth
Monday in April next, each of the members of the levy court
of Prince George's county, shall receive three dollars for each
and every day's attendance in court, which sum shall be levied
as is usual, on the assessable property of said county.

Repeal.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That so much of the act of No-
vember session, eighteen hundred and twelve, chapter one
hundred and ninety-one, as is inconsistent with the provisions
of this act, be, and the same is hereby repealed.

AN ACT directing the Levy Court of Prince George's County to pay to
the Messenger of the County Court of said County, (he sum of money
therein mentioned.— 1834, ch. 223.
