SEC. 12. And be it enacted, That the levy court of Mont-
gomery county shall levy for the repair of public roads, and
the supervisors shall give bond in the same manner as is now
required by law, and said levy court and supervisors shall in
all things conform to the existing laws, where the same are not
inconsistent with the provisions of this act.

A SUPPLEMENT to an ACT to provide for the repair of Public Roads in
Montgomery County, passed at December session, eighteen hundred
and twenty-six, chapter two hundred and twenty-seven.— 1828, ch. 115.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the judges of the levy court of Montgomery county, be,
and they are hereby authorized and required, after the time
shall have expired for which the present supervisors are ap-
pointed, to appoint annually, in the month of April, such num-
ber of supervisors as they, in their discretion, shall think the
public interest and convenience may require, not exceeding
three in any election district in said county, and to fill, at any
lime thereafter, such vacancies as may occur.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty of the
levy court, where they shall appoint more than one supervisor
for a district, to apportion the roads in said district, in such
manner as they may think best, among said supervisors.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the supervisors so ap-
pointed, shall provide themselves with a strong plough and
dirt scoop, or scraper, at the expense of, and to belong to, the
county ; and proceed to complete the repairs of such of said
roads as shall be severally assigned to them by the said court,
on or before the first day of September in every year there-
after, in the manner prescribed by the act to which this is a
supplement.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the several inspectors of
public roads in said county, shall, and they are hereby re-
quired and directed, to report to the levy court of said county,
the number of miles of public roads in their several districts,
as nearly as they can without surveying or measuring the
same, on or before the last day of November next.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the second, sixth, seventh
and tenth sections of the act to which this is a supplement,
and so much of the third section of the same act, as requires
the supervisors to examine each break-water of his district,
after every rain calculated to do injury thereto, be, and the
same is hereby repealed from and after the last day of Novem-
ber next.
