MONTGOMERY COUNTY.

Assignment
of roads.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That wherever a public road in
said county may cross the line of an election district in such
manner as to be inconvenient for the supervisor of such district
to attend to the same, it shall be lawful for the levy court to
assign any road, or part of- a road, so situated, to the supervisor
most convenient in an adjoining district.

An additional SUPPLEMENT to the ACT, entitled, an Act to provide for the
repairs of Public Roads in Montgomery County, passed December ses-
sion, eighteen hundred and twenty-six, chapter two hundred and twenty-
seven.— 1831, ch. 108.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the supervisors of public roads for Montgomery county,
be, and they are hereby authorized and required to commence
annually, in the month of May, as provided for in the third
section of the act to which this is an additional supplement, to
repair the several roads allotted to said supervisors, by the
levy court of said county, in the manner therein prescribed,
and that the said supervisors shall continue to work thereon
every day, successively, (Sundays excepted,) without inter-
ruption, until the repair of said road be completed.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That if the said supervisors, or
any one of them, shall fail to execute and complete the repairs
of said road as directed, unless prevented by just and sufficient
cause, to be determined by the said levy court, then and in
that case, it shall be the duty of the levy court, to present the
fact to the grand jury of said county, whose duty it shall be,
to proceed as directed in the seventh section of the original
act, to which this is an additional supplement.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted. That all and every part or parts
of the original act and the supplements thereto, not inconsis-
tent with the provisions of this act, be, and remain in full
force and virtue in law.

Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
from and after the passage of this act, it shall and may be law-
ful for the levy court of Montgomery county, to levy on the
assessable property of said county, such additional sum of mo-
ney, for the repairs of the public roads in said county, as in
the discretion of said court, shall be deemed necessary and

proper ; Provided, the whole sum levied for that object, in
any one year, shall not exceed the sum of twenty-five cents
on every hundred dollars worth of assessable property in said
county.
