KENT COUNTY.
 

this act is supplementary, and shall bo held at the alms or
work-house in the said county, except such meetings as may
be necessary for the settlement and passing their accounts with
the levy court.

Allowance
for certifi-
cates of ap-
pointment.

SEC. 10. And be it enacted. That the clerk of the said court
shall be allowed twenty-five cents for each certificate of ap-
pointment which he shall make out and deliver to the sheriff,
and the sheriff shall be allowed fifty cents for the delivery of
each of the said certificates to the persons appointed ; all
which charges and allowances are to be levied, collected and
paid over, as other county charges are.

to trustees

SEC. 11. And be it enacted, That the trustees shall, each
and every of them, be entitled to receive as a compensation, a
per diem allowance of two dollars for each and every day they
shall necessarily attend at the alms or work-house, or other
place of meeting, in discharging the duties imposed by this
act, which is to be levied, collected and paid, as other county
charges are.

Supplies,
not to be
furnished
by trustees.

SEC. 12. And be it enacted, That from and after the organ-
ization of this institution, under the provisions of this act, it
shall not be lawful for any trustee to furnish, on his own ac-
count, supplies of any description, for the use of the alms or
work-house ; and if any trustee shall, in violation of this act,
furnish supplies to said institution, he shall, upon sufficient
evidence of the fact being offered to the levy court of the
county aforesaid, forfeit, for the use and benefit of the institu-
tion, whatever supplies he may have so furnished.

Repeal.

SEC. 13. And be it enacted. That any thing in the said ori-
ginal act to which this is a supplementary act, as relates to
Kent county, which is repugnant to, or inconsistent with, the
provisions of this act, shall be, and the same is hereby re-
pealed.

A SUPPLEMENT to an ACT, entitled, an Act to authorize the Trustees of
the Poor of Kent County to purchase a Farm or tract of Land for the
use of the Poor, and to sell the present Alms-house of said County, and
for other purposes, passed at December session, eighteen hundred and
twenty-five, chapter one hundred and ninety-one. — 1835, ch. 108.

Trustees

to borrow
$10,000.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the trustees of the poor of Kent county, and their suc-
cessors in office for the time being, be and they, or a majority
of them, are hereby authorized and empowered to borrow,
upon the faith of the county, such sum of money as may be
necessary to purchase the farm, stock, implements of husban-
dry, &c. mentioned in the act to which this is a supplement ;

Proviso.

Provided, the said sum shall not exceed ten thousand dollars;
And provided also, the assent and concurrence of the levy
court of said county, be first had and obtained.
