SCHOOLS.

1939

SEC. 13. And 6e it enacted, That this law shall not have
any effect or operation or be in force unless a majotity of the
voters of Frederick county, at their next election for delegates
to the general assembly, shall assent to it, which assent they
may declare upon their ballots: those voting in favour of this
law shall have on their ballots these words, 'for the primary
school law,' and those voting against this law shall have on
their ballots these words, 'against the primary school law;' and
the judges of election shall keep an accurate account of the
votes for and against the law.

SEC. 14. And be it enacted, That all acts inconsistent here-
with, be, and the same are hereby repealed.

A SUPPLEMENT to an ACT, entitled, an Act to provide for the Public
Instruction of Youth in Primary Schools throughout this State, passed
at December session, eighteen hundred and twenty five, chapter one
hundred and sixty two — 1837, ch 163

Repeal

Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
from and after the passage of this act, all white children, in the
county of Frederick, between the ages of five and eighteen
years, inclushe, shall be entitled to instruction in primary
schools, and to all the ad\antages contemplated by the ori-
ginal act, and the several supplements thereto, any thing
therein contained to the contiary notwithstanding.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That hereafter all fiee white male citizens, above the age of
twenty-one years, having the same residence and qualifications
that are prescribed by the general election laws of this state,
to vote for members of the general assembly, shall be entitled
to vote in all matters relating to the selection of sites for
school-houses, and in the election of trustees in the respective
school districts where they reside.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all and eveiy thing con-
tained in the law to which this is a supplement, that is con-
tiary to, or inconsistent with the provisions of this act, be, and
