REGISTER.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty of the
trustees of the poor, to introduce, as soon as practicable, the
raising of silk into said institution, for which purpose they are
authorized to purchase such books, and to take such papers as
may be necessary for giving instructions to the keeper, and
those under him, in growing the mulberry tree, and raising
and reeling silk, and the trustees aforesaid are further autho-
rized, whenever it shall become necessary, to purchase a reel,
and such other implements as may be required to carry into
complete effect the intentions of this act.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted. That the levy court of Dorchester
county, be, and they are hereby authorized and required, at
their discretion, to borrow, in anticipation of the amount of
money contemplated to be levied by this act, for the purpose of
immediately cairying into effect so much of its provisions as
relates to the purchase of mulberry trees, books, and papers,
and repay the same out of the levy to be made under this act,
together with whatever interest may be due at the time of
repayment.

AN ACT relating to the Records in the Register of Wills1 Office for Dor-
chester County.— 1838, ch. 32.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the register of wills for Dorchester county be authorized
and required to procure a sufficient number of well bound
books, and therein accurately to make an index, easy of refer-
ence, to all the wills recorded in said office, to which wills
there is now no good and sufficient index.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the register of wills for said
county, be authorized and required to obtain a sufficient num-
ber of well bound books, and cause an accurate and full index
or key to all administrations recorded in said office from the
year eighteen hundred and twenty three inclusive, to the year
eighteen hundred and twenty-nine inclusive.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the levy court of said
county, be required to levy on the assessable property of said
county, such sum of money as shall be sufficient to pay the
cost of the necessary books, and such compensation for the
duties herein required as is now allowed by law for similar
services, and that the said sum of money be collected as other
county charges are collected, and the same to be paid over to
