SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That the said commissioners shall
appoint some person of their own body to be their treasurer,
who, before he acts as such, shall give bond to the said com-
missioners, with security if required, in such penalty as the
said commissioners may in their disci etion require, for the
faithful performance of his duty, and that it shall be the duty
of the said treasurer to receive all moneys which the said com-
missioners shall draw for on the treasurer of the western shore,
and all moneys which they may hereafter be authorized by law
to receive, or which they may by gift, grant, or otherwise ac-
quire a light to dispose of for the education of poor children,
and the same to keep and account for, the said commissioners
annually at their meeting in November, or at any other time,
when called upon by the said commissioners, and to pay to the
order of the commissioners, signed by their clerk, such sum as
may be requited to be paid by every such order.

SEC. 8, And be it enacted, That the boaid of commissioners
shall have power and authority to make such by-laws and
regulations as they may deem expedient, provided they be not
repugnant to the provisions of this act, or to any law of this
state, and that they may in their disci etion constitute district

districts, if they shall think it conducive to the furthciance of
the objects of this act, and of the act to which this is a supple-
ment.

certain Fund for the purpose of establishing Free Schools in the several
Counties therein mentioned — 1830, ch 40.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the orphans court of Chailes county, be, and they are
hereby empowered and authorized, to draw, from year to year,
on the treasuter of the western shore, and the treasurer is
hereby required to pay to their older the proportion of the
school fund to which said county is or hereafter may be entitled.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That the orphans court of said
county shall, from lime to time, as such moneys come to their
hands, distribute the same in the manner it has heretofore been
done, to the several commissioners of said county, to be dis-
posed of according to law, they the said orphans court taking
the receipts of said commissioners therefor.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said commissioners shall
report to the said orphans court, on the first Monday in Novem-
ber, in each year, an accurate account of the manner in which
they have expended or disposed of said moneys, and the vouch-
ers of their expenditures shall be on oath, and shall be safe I
kept on file by the said orphans court.
