Frederick or Baltimore county, and to pay the same over to
such person or the trustee of such person.

ROADS.
AN ACT relating to Public Roads in Carroll County.— 1838, ch. 55.

 

Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
from and after the passage of this act, the act entitled, an act to
regulate the manner of obtaining and altering public roads in
Baltimore county, passed at December session, eighteen hun-
dred and twenty -five, chapter two hundred and nineteen, and
the act, entitled, an act to enlarge the powers of the commis-
sioners of Baltimore county, passed at December session,
eighteen hunched and thii ty-seven, chapter two hundred and
fifty-nine, shall apply to Carroll county, and that the commis-
sioners of tax of Carroll county, be, and they are hereby au-
thorized to exercise all the powers vested in the commissioners
of Baltimore county by the said acts.

SHERIFF
An ACT entitled, an Act to provide for the election of a Sheriff in Carroll
County, and for other purposes — 1836, ch 180
SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the sheriffs who shall be
elected as aforesaid, shall serve until the first Monday of Oc-
tober, in the year eighteen hundred and thirty-nine, and until
the qualification of the sheriff who may then be elected as the
shei iff of other counties are.
The residue of this act provides for the election of the sheriff until the
usual periodical return of the general election for the sheriffs in and for the
different counties.

AN ACT to confirm and make valid the Proceedings of the Sheriff of
Chrroll County —1838, ch 404

Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
all acts and proceedings of the sheriff of Carroll county, which
took place between the first day of April, eighteen hundred
and Unity-seven, and the first day of March, eighteen hundred
and thirty-nine, shall be as valid and effectual in law, to all in-
tents and purposes, as if the said sheriff had regularly bonded
as required by law.

SCHOOLS
AN ACT relating to the Free School Fund heretofore received by Frederick
and Baltimore Counties, and now owned and held by the said Counties.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the levy court of Frederick county, be, and they are
hereby authorized and requited, as soon as may be practicable,
