tion of Frederick county, since a portion of her territory has
been included in Carroll county ; therefore,

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland)
That the levy court of Frederick county shall, annually here-
after, levy upon the assessable property of said county, and
cause to be collected, the sum of seven hundred and twenty-
eight dollars, and no more, for the purpose of carrying into
effect the provisions of an act, entitled, an act relating to the
people of colour in this state, passed at December session,
eighteen hundred and thirty-one, chapter two hundred and
eighty-one, to which this is a further supplement, and the said
levy court are hereby required to pay, or cause to be paid an-

nually hereafter, to the treasurer of the western shore, the sum
herein before mentioned, and no more, for the purposes afore-
said ; any other law to the contrary notwithstanding.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the act of the levy court of
Frederick county, in refusing to levy more than the said sum
of seven hundred and twenty-eight dollars, the full proportion
of said county, be, and the same is hereby confirmed, and ren-
dered valid and binding.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty of the
commissioners of the tax for Carroll county, to levy upon the
assessable property of said county the sum of two hundred
and sixteen dollars, and pay the same to the treasurer of the
western shore of Maryland, for the use of the Maryland State
Colonization Society, being the proportion omitted last year to
be collected by the levy court of Frederick county, in conse-
quence of the reduction of assessable property of Frederick,
by the creation of Carroll county.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the commissioners of the
tax for Carroll county, shall, in addition to the sum mentioned
in the aforegoing section, for the present year and annually
hereafter, levy the like sum of money, and pay over the same
to the treasurer aforesaid, for the purpose aforesaid, as the pro-
portion properly chargeable for so much of Frederick county
as is now part of Carroll county.
