BALTIMORE COUNTY.

 

collectors of the county tax, one for each old election district, to
be designated in the several bonds to be filed with the said
court, collection district, which said collectors, when so appointed
before they proceed to act, shall severally give bond to the state
of Maryland, in such penalty, and with such security as the
said court shall prescribe and approve, and in all other respects
comply with the provisions of the act to which this is a further
supplement, passed at December session, 1817.

A SUPPLEMENT to the ACT, entitled, an Act to provide for a new
Assessment and to appoint Collectors of the County Tax, in and for
the City and County of Baltimore.— 1826, ch. 35.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland^
That the levy court for Baltimore county, be and is hereby
authorized and empowered, at any time whenever the said
court shall be of opinion that the bond and security given by
any collector of the tax for the city or county of Baltimore has
become insufficient to prevent the loss of the taxes, or any part
thereof, to call upon such collector to give a new bond, with
additional security, for the faithful discharge of his or their
duties, which said bond and security shall be approved of by
the said court, and recorded in the office of the clerk of Balti-
more county court, and an office copy thereof, under seal, shall
be evidence in all the courts of this state ; and in case any
collector shall refuse or neglect to give such new, or additional
security, within the lime fixed by said court, then all the
powers of said collector shall from that time cease, and the said
court shall thereupon appoint a new collector iu the place of the
one so removed, who shall give bond, to the state of Maryland,
in such penalty and with such security, as the said court shall
prescribe and approve, conditioned for the faithful discharge of
his or their duties as such,* which bond shall be recorded in
Baltimore county court, upon which suits may be brought by
the said levy court, or by any person or persons interested
therein, and copies thereof, under the seal of office, shall be
evidence hi all cases whatever.

Repeal.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all and every act and acts,
or parts of any act, which is or are inconsistent with the pro-
visions of this act, be and the same are hereby repealed.

 

AN ACT to authorize the Commissioners of Baltimore County, to appoint
Collectors in the cases therein mentioned.— 1831, ch. 50.

Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the commissioners of Baltimore county be, and they are hereby
authorized to appoint a collector or collectors of taxes from time
to time, to supply any vacancy or vacancies which may happen,
