CONSTABLES— CORONERS.

by reason of the death or resignation of a collector or collectors
previously appointed, or of the neglect or refusal of any such
collector to give bond in the manner and at the time required
by the said commissioners, any laws to the contrary notwith-
standing.

 

A SUPPLEMENT to an ACT, entitled, an Act to provide for the appointment
of Collectors of the County Tax, in and for the City and County of
Baltimore, passed at December session, eighteen hundred and twenty-
three.— 1836, ch 228.
There is no such act in 1823. It is presumed that the law referred to,
is 1823, ch. 53, entitled ra further supplement to an act, entitled, an act to
provide /or a new assessment, and to appoint collectors of the county tax, in
and for the city and county of Baltimore.'

 

Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
it shall be the duty of the commissioners of Baltimore county
for the collection of the county tax, to divide said county into
any number of collection districts, not exceeding five, in their
discretion, and particularly to describe the boundaries and num-

ber of each district, and to record the same among the records
of said commissioners; and the said commissioners of the

county shall annually hereafter appoint one collector of the
county tax for each collection district, designating the number
of the district in the several bonds to be filed with the said com-
missioners, which said collectors when so appointed, before
they proceed to act, shall give bond and security as directed by
the act to which this is a supplement.
See 1838, ch 201, sec. 4, which requires the county commissioners to
give notice by advertisement for proposals to collect the taxes.

CONSTABLES.
AN ACT to extend the time of the Constables of Baltimore County to
appear before the Grand Jurors of said county. — 1838, ch. 159.
Be it enacted^ by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
from and after the passage of this act, the time limited for the
constables of Baltimore county, to appear before the grand
jurors of said county, shall be, and the same is hereby ex-
tended from the first to the third day of the session of said
grand jurors, and not longer.
