lings and nine- pence current money, for each and every day

 

any person shall be summoned or warned to work1 as aforesaid.

Penalty for

SEC. 16. And be it enacted, That the supervisor of the public

neglect, &c.

roads in said county, who shall refuse or neglect to summon

 

every free able bodied male person, or the master or mistress of

 

any male servants as aforesaid, who shall refuse or neglect to

 

recover the fine or fines by this act imposed on any person for

 

not assisting in repairing the public roads, such supervisor

 

shall, for every person whom he shall not summon or warn as

 

aforesaid, and for every person from whom he shall neglect to

 

recover the fine or fines as aforesaid, forfeit and pay the sum of

 

ten shillings current money for every such offence ; Provided,

 

that nothing in this act contained, shall authorize any super-

 

visor to summon or warn any person above four days in each

 

and every year, and any person summoned or warned for more

 

than the said four days, such person shall not be obliged to

 

attend more than the said four days.

Persons

SEC. 17. And be it enacted, That if any person or persons

may pay an-

nually &c.

shall, on or before the first day of September annually, pay to

 

the supervisor of the public roads of the district in which such

 

person or persons shall reside, the sum of fifteen shillings cur-

 

rent money, for each and every person liable to assist in the

 

repairing the public roads in said county, such person or per-

 

sons shall not, for one year from the day on which such pay-

 

ment or payments is or are made, be liable to the penalties of

 

this act, and the supervisor shall not be obliged to summon

 

such person or persons, any thing in this act lo the contrary

 

notwithstanding.

SEC. 18. And be it enacted, That the supervisor shall, and he
