ALLEGANY COUNTY.

 

AN ACT relating to Elections in Allegany County. — 1836, ch. 160.

District

SEO. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,

No. 10.

That the additional district, when laid off as in said act pro-

 

vided, shall be known by number ten, and the said district

 

when laid off shall be entitled to all the rights and privileges as

 

is now secured to the other election districts in said county.

missioners for Allegany County, and prescribing their power and duties,

 

passed at December session, eighteen hundred and twenty-nine, chapter

 

twenty-eve.-- 1838, ch. 5.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, no provision is made in the law enacted on the

 

twenty-eighth day of January, eighteen hundred and thirty,

 

giving to the people of Allegany county, the right to choose

 

their commissioners of tax by ballot, to determine in case of tie

 

between two or more of the candidates, for the said office of

 

county commissioners; And whereas, it appears from the returns

 

of the judges of election for Aliegany county, that at the last

 

October election, there was a tie vote between two of the candi-

 

dates running for said office of county commissioners, in the

 

Flintstone district, in said county; therefore,
