SEC. 10. And be if enacted, That each of the said commis-

day that he shall necessarily attend to the duties of his office.

SEC. 11. And be it enacted, That the said commissioners

shall and may, at any time during each and every year, make,
complete, and close their levy, any law to the contrary notwith-

pending at the time of the passage of this act, by or against the

and prosecuted to a final determination in like manner, and

suits, had been instituted by or against the said commissioners.

SEC. 12. And be it enacted, That so much of any act or acts

hereby repealed.

NOTE.— The 4th sec. of this act transfers to the County Commissioners,
|
|
the authorities exercised by the Commissioners of the Tax. Their duties
|
|
are principally to be found in the act of 1812, ch. 191, entitled, 'an Act for
|
|
the valuation of real and personal property in the several counties of this
|
|
state.1 Allegany and Anne Arundel counties have since then had a re-
|
|
valuation of property. By 1817, ch. 142, a new assessment of property in
|
|
Baltimore county was provided for, and that assessment was to be made in
|
|
the manner prescribed by 1812, ch. 191,— the act of 1812, ch. 191, will be
|
|
therefore distributed to 'Baltimore County,' — which see.
|

A SUPPLEMENT to an ACT, entitled, an Act to provide for electing Com-

missioners for Allegany County, and prescribing their powers and
|
|
duties, passed December session, eighteen hundred and twenty-nine,
|
|
chapter twenty-five.— 1831, ch. 72.

WHEREAS, it is represented to this general assembly, that the
|

act, entitled, an act to provide for electing commissioners for

Allegany county, and prescribing their powers and duties,
|
|
passed December session, eighteen hundred and twenty-nine,
|
|
chapter twenty-five, did not make a seal necessary, and it ap-
|
|
pearing just and proper that the commissioners should have a
|
|
seal; therefore*
|
|
Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
|

the commissioners elected under the act, be authorized and
|
|
hereby directed to cause to be made and use a corporate seal,
|
|
and may alter the same at their pleasure, as may be necessary
|
|
to give validity to the acts of the said commissioners.
