SEC. 2T. And be it enacted, That nothing in this act shall be
construed to extend to the city of Baltimore, and this act shall in

SEC. 28. And be it enacted, That all laws and acts of assem-
bly of this state repugnant to, or inconsistent with the provisions
of this act, be and the same are hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 202.

A SUPPLEMENT to the ACT, entitled, an Act to establish Magistrates
Courts, in the several Counties of this State, and to prescribe their
Jurisdiction.

Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
so much of the original act to which this is a supplement, as
prohibits the appointment by the governor and council, of three
justices of the peace in each election district of the several
counties of this state, to be justices of a court to be held in said
election districts, for the purposes enumerated in said original
act, before the first day of May next, shall be, and the same is

hereby repealed, and the governor and council shall be, and
they are hereby authorized, at any time after the passage of this
act, to make the appointment of three justices, in the same
manner and to the same extent as if the same was inserted in
the original law.

CHAPTER 205.
AN ACT relating to Lotteries, in the State of Maryland.
WHEREAS, it is the wish of this legislature, that the lottery
system shall expire at as early a day as practicable ; therefore,

 

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the state lottery commissioners shall take all the grants of
lotteries now existing, the commissioners of which shall have
within six months after the passage of this act, acquiesced in
its provisions, and draw the lotteries or dispose of the schemes,
under such grants, in the same manner as they draw or dispose
of the state schemes, until they raise the sums clear of the ex-
pense of drawing the same, and all deductions and abatements
whatsoever, authorized to be raised by such grants respectively,
and that they pay over to the commissioners appointed in said
grants respectively, the money when raised, to be applied to the
purposes of such grants.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That nothing in this act shall be
so construed as to revive any lottery grant which shall have
expired before the passage of the same.
