1867.] OF THE SENATE. 95

The Senate proceeded to the consideration of Executive
Business.

After a time the Senate resumed the consideration of the
Legislative business.

The President announced as the Committee on Executive
Nominations, Messrs. Bowie, Vickers and Tome.

Mr. Tome submitted the following :

Ordered, That the Senate hereafter meet at 11 1/2 A. M.,
instead of 11;

Mr. Compton submitted the following amendment:

Ordered, That when the Senate adjourns, it adjourn to
meet at 8 o'clock, P. M., to-day.

On the question being put, it was

Determined in the negative, by yeas and nays as follow:

Messrs. Compton,
Earle,
Henkle,
Kimmell,
Mackall,

AFFIRMATIVE.

Mules,
Stephenson,
Stirling,
Young — 9.

Messrs. Billingslea,
Bowie,
Brodwater,
Davis, of Caroline,

Vickers,
Waters— 10.

The question then recurred upon the adoption of the order
submitted by Mr. Tome, and it was

Determined in the affirmative.
On motion of Mr. Jump,

The Senate adjourned until to-morrow morning at
o'clock, M. A.

THURSDAY, January 24, 1867.

Alfred Spates, Esquire, Senator for Allegany county, ap-
peared, qualified and took his seat.
