BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

January 22, 1867.
Gentlemen of the Senate :

We have received your message, requesting the House to re-
turn to your Honorable Body the bill entitled, an Act to repaal
the fourth, seventh, fifteenth, sixteenth and twentieth sections
of the fourth Article of the Public Local Laws of Baltimore
city, relating to the qualification of electors in said city, and
regulating the time for holding elections for Mayor and mem-
bers of the City Council, and the terms of, and the times for
entering upon the duties of said office, and to re-enact the
same with amendments.

We concur in said message, and herewith return said bill
to your Honorable Body.

Also, returned the bill entitled an Act, to confirm the pro-
ceedings of commissioners appointed by Worcester county
Court, to divide the real estate of Wheatley Dennis, late of
Worcester county, deceased;

Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays."

Also, the bill entitled an Act, to incorporate Corsica Lodge
No. 118, of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, of. Queen
Anne's county;

Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays."

Also, returned the bill entitled, an Act to repeal the 4th,
7th, 15th, 16th and 20th sections of the 4th Article of the
Public Local Laws of the city of Baltimore, relating to the
qualification of the electors in said city, and regulating the
time for holding elections for Mayor and Members of the
City Council, and the terms of, and the times for entering
upon the duties of said office, and to re-enact the same with
amendments ;

Mr. Mules moved to reconsider the vote by which said bill
had been passed and sent to the House of Delegates;

On the question being put,

It was determined in the affirmative.

Mr. Kimmell submitted the following amendment:

Section 4, line 12, after the word "year," insert the words
"the term of the office of Mayor shall commence on the se-
cond Wednesday of Frebruary, 1867," and on the same day
in every second year thereafter ;"

Which was read and adopted.
