84 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Jan. 22,

At 12 o'clock, M., the Senators proceeded to the Hall of the
House of Delegates for the purpose of convening in joint as-
sembly with that Body, for the election of United States
Senator.

The Senators at 1 o'clock, P. M., returned, and resumed
the ordinary business of the session.

The Senate resumed the consideration of the bill regulating
the election of Mayor and Cicty Council of Baltimore city;

Mr. Tome moved to make the bill the order of the day for
to-morrow at one o'clock ;

On the question being put,

It was determined in the negative by yeas and nays as fol-
low:
