Said bill was then returned to the House of Delegates.

Mr. Maddox, from the Committe on Elections, submitted
the following

REPORT:

To the Honorable the Senate of Maryland:

The Committee on Elections, to which was referred tLe
message of his Excellency, the Governor, transmitting the
returns of the elections of members of the Senate, have had
that subject under consideration, and would respectfully
report,—

That from these returns for Senators, in Allegany county,
A. Spates had the highest number of votes, and was elected;
E. J. Henkle, of Anne Arundel county, had the highest
number of votes and was elected; in the first legislative dis-
trict of Baltimore city, W. Kimmel had the highest number
of votes and was elected; in the second legislative district of
said city, Thos. H. Mules had the highest number of votes
and was elected: in the third legislative district of said city,
Douglass Stirling had the highest number of votes and was
elected; in Charles county, Barncs Compton had the highest
number of votes and was elected; in Kent county, George,
Viewers had the highest number of votes and was elected; in
Motgomery county, Isaac Young had the highest number of
votes and was elected; in Prince George's county, Oden Bowie
had the highest number of votea and was elected; in St.
Mary's county, G. Fred. Maddox had the highest number of
votes and was elected; in Talbot county, C. M. Jump had the
highest number of votes and was elected; in Worcester
county, L. J. M. P. Brodwater had the highest number of
votes and was elected; in Somerst county, Levin L. Waters
had the highest number of votes and was elected.
