Mr. Bowie, submitted the following message:

BY THE SENATE,

January 21, 1867.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

We have received the proposition of your Honorable Body,
that the Committees on Immigration of the Senate and House
of Delegates act conjointly upon the suggestions made in the
message of his Excellency, the Governor, relating to amend-
ment of the Immigration Act, and respectfully concur there-
in. By order,

A. GASSAWAY,

Secretary.

Which was read, assented to, and sent to the House of
Delegates.

The President announced the order of the day, being the
bill entitled, an Act to add additional sections to the Code of
Public General Laws, title "Small Pox ;"

Mr. Kimmel moved to postpone the bill;
Determined in the affirmative.
On motion of Mr. Kimmel,

The Senate proceeded to the consideration of the bill enti-
tled, an Act to repeal the 4th, 7th, 15th, 16th and 20th sec-
tions of Article 4th of the Public Local Laws of the city of
Baltimore, relating to the qualifications of electors in said
city, and regulating the time for holding elections for Mayor
and Members of the City Council, and the terms of and the
time for entering upen the duties of said office, and to re-en-
act the same with amendments ;

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED :

Section 7, line 2d, strike out two thousand five hundred
dollars, and insert "three thousand dollars."

Section 20, line 5, strike out the word setting, and insert
the word "sitting."

Title, line 4, strike out the word elections, and insert the
word "electors."

Which were read and adopted.

Mr. Henkle submitted the following amendment :

In 4th line after the word "on," insert "the same day
in;"

Which was read and adopted.
