sum of money for the benefit of the Union Orphan Asylum
of Baltimore, city ;

Which was read the first time and referred to the Com-
mittee on Finance.

Mr. Compton, from the Select Committee, to which was
referred the bill entitled, an Act to repeal sub-section 5 of
chapter 194, of Laws of Maryland, passed January session,
1865, entitled, an Act to repeal and re-enact sections 5, 26
and 27, of an Act passed January session, 1864, chapter 346,
entitled, an Act .to amend article 4 of the Code of Public Lo-
cal Laws relating to the leasing of the State tobocco ware-
houses and the inspection of tobacco ;

Reported it with the following amendment:

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Section 27, line 116, strike out "one dollar and twenty-
five cents," and insert "two dollars."

Which was read and adopted.

The bill was then read the second time, and by special or-
der the third time, three-fourths concurring, and passed by
yeas and nays as follow :

Act to make valid indentures and contracts of apprenticeship
executed since the 1st day of January, 1855 ;
