tee upon that subject.

Which was read.

Mr. Compton, from the Joint Committee, submitted the fol-
lowing Report with a joint resolution :

The Joint Select Committee to whicji was referred that por-
tion of the Governor's Message relating to the purchase of
a suitable residence for the Executive of the State, ask leave,
respectfully, to report that they have received a large num-
ber of proposals from property holders in Annapolis; that
they have carefully considered the same, and examined the
premises offered, and recommend as the result of their inves-
tigations, the passage of the following resolutions :

Resolved, That the sum of fifteen thousand dollars, in addi-
tion to the twenty-five thousand already appropriated be, and
the same is hereby appropriated for the purchase of a suitable
residence for .the accommodation of the Executive of the
State.

Resolved, That upon the execution to the State by Wm.
H. Tuck, of a good and sufficient title to the houses and
grounds, by him offered, (to be approved by the Governor) the
Treasurer shall upon the warrant of the Comptroller, pay
to the said Wm. H. Tuck, the sum of forty thousand dollars,
as above appropriated and referred to as the consideration
money therefor.
