630 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 16,

A bill entitled, an Act to repeal section 39 of article 19i of
Public Local Laws relating to the number of County Com-
missioners for Somerset county, and to amend and re-enact
said section.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Committ-
tee on Judicial Proceedings.

Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance, to which was
referred Joint Resolution in relation to payment of bounty ;

Reported said Resolution without amendment;

The Resolution was then read the second time.

Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance, to which was
referred the bill entitled, an Act appropriating a sum of
money to pay the claims of James L. Martin, Thomas Don-
aldson, Thomas S. Alexander, John A. Lynch, John Ritchie,
and the administrators of the estate of the late Ezekiel F.
Chambers, Samuel J. Hopkins, Lloyd Tilgham and Michael
Zimmerman, for services rendered the State by official ap-
pointment ;

Reported it without amendment.
The bill was then read the second time.
On motion by Mr. Earle,

Was read the third time by special order, three-fourths
concurring, and passed by yeas and nays as follow:

Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance, to which was
referred the memorial of Townsend French & Co., of Balti-
more, asking to be refunded money illegally paid into the
State Treasury on storage of tobacco, asked to be discharged
from the further consideration of the subject.

Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance, to which was
referred the memorial of J. Dyer & Co., of Baltimore city,
to be refunded money illegally paid into the State Treasury
on account of storage of tobacco, asked to be discharged from
the further consideration of the same.
