On motion by Mr. Henkle,

The Senate took up for consideration, the bill entitled., an
Act to provide by law for taking and perpetuating the evi-
dence of the number of persons held to labor and service in
the State of Maryland, and emancipated by the Constitution
adopted in the year 1864, and by whom such persons were so
held;

On motion by Mr. Earle,

The Senate was called,

The Sergeant-at-arms was sent to inform the absent Sena-
tors that their attendance was required in the Senate Cham-
ber ;

On motion by Mr. Henkle,

Further proceedings under the call were dispensed with.
