The Joint Assembly proceeded to ballot, and the tellers
reported the following result:
Lefevre Jarrett received 67 votes; James E. Carr 65 votes;
William H. Fusselbaugh 65 votes; John Clements 2 votes;
Robert M. Prima 18 rotes; Nicholas Wood 18 votes; Samuel
Hindes 18 votes; James Young 1 vote; William Thomas
Valliant 1 vote;
From which it appeared that Lefevre Jarrett, James E.
Carr and William B. Fusselbaugh had received a majority of
all the votes cast.
The Speaker of the House of Delegates then declared Lefe-
vre Jarrett, James E. Carr and William H. B. Fusselbaugh,
elected Police Commissioners for the city of Baltimore.
The bill entitled, an Act for the restoration of the Records,
Indexes, Dockets and papers destroyed or injured by fire, in
the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Baltimore
county;
Was ordered to lie over for a few moments.

The Senate was called.
The Sergeant-at-Arms was sent to inform the absent Sena-
tors that their attendance was required in the Senate Cham-
ber.

The Senate proceeded to the consideration of the bill enti-
tled an Act to repeal an Act passed at the January session
1867, entitled, an Act to repeal the 4, 7, 15 and 20 sections
of the 4th article of Local Public Laws, of the city of Balti-
more relative to the qualification of electors in said city, and
regulating the times for holding elections for Mayor and the
members of the city Council, and the terms of, and the times
for entering upon the duties of said ofiices, and to re-enact
the same with amendments, and also to repeal the 4, 7,- 15,
20, 26, 213 and 222 sections of the 4th article of the Code of
Public Local Laws relating to the city of Baltimore, and the
election of Mayor and members of the city Council of said
city, their terms of office respectively, the time of entering
upon the duties of their offices respectively, and to amend
and re-enact said sections, and to repeal an Act passed at
January session 1867, entitled, an Act to repeal section 227,
of article 4, of the Code of Public Local Laws, relating to
elections in the city of Baltimore, and to re-enact the same
with amendments, and to amend and re-enact said section,
