to which was referred the bill entitled, an Act to repeal sec-
tion 56 of article 16, of the Code of Public Local Laws, en-
titled, Prince George's county, and to re-enact the same with
an amendment ;

Reported it without amendment.

The bill was then read the second time.

Mr. Vickers, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
to which was referred the bill entitled, an Act to repeal sec-
tion 20 of article 96, of the Code of Public General Laws,
entitled, Weights and Measures, and to re-enact the same
with amendments;

Reported it without amendment,
The bill was then read a second time.

Mr. Vickers, from the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings, to which was referred the bill entitled, an Act to amend
article 16, of the Code of Public Local Laws, relating to
Prince George's county ;

Reported it without amendment.

The bill was then read the second time.

Mr. Vickers, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
to which was referred the bill entitled, an Act to authorize
Thomas Fawcett, of Montgomery county, to act as postmaster
and Justice of the Peace ;

Reported it without amendment;

The bill was then read a second time.

Mr. Vickers, from the Cammittee on Judicial Proceedings,
reported a bill entitled, an Act to authorize the codification
of the laws, and to appropriate a sum of money for that pur-
pose ;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance, reported a
bill entitled, an Act to provide for the disposition of the to-
bacco warehouses of the State, in the city of Baltimore, and
for the building of new warehouses in deep water ;

With an amendment.

Mr. Bowie submitted the following :

Amend by striking out the enacting clause.

The question on the adoption of the amendment was de-
termined in the affirmative.

The hour of 12 o'clock having arrived, the Senators pro-
ceeded to the Hall of the House of Delegates for the purpose
of convening in joint assembly with that. body for the elec-
tion of three persons to constitute the Board of Police Com-
missioners of the city of Baltimore ;
