Which was read the first time, and referred to the Com-
mittee on Finance.

A bill entitled, an Act to repeal sections 1 and 2, of the
Act passed January session, 1867, entitled, an Act to secure
the completion of the Wicomico and Pocomoke Railroad, and
re-enact the same with amendments ;

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-

ee on Internal Improvements.

A bill entitled, an Act to authorize the county commlssion-
ers of the several counties, to levy the county taxes upon the
basis of the assessment of 1866, and the State tax upon the
basis of the assessment of 1852;

Which was read the first time.
On motion by Mr. Henkle,

The rules were suspended, and the bill read the second
time by special order;

On motion by Mr. Davis, of Washington,
Sajd bill was referred to the Committee on Finance.

A bill entitled, an Act to appropriate a sum of money to
pay Longnecker & Conner, M. Fields and others;

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Finance.

A bill entitled, an Act to refund a sum of money paid into
the State Treasury erroneously by John M. Bond of the 5th
election district, of Baltimore county;

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Finance.

A bill entitled, an Act to pay Wm. Price a sum of money
for legal services rendered the State by direction of the Gov-
ernor, and also, to pay Daniel R. Magruder a sum of money
for his expenses, paid in obtaining the position of Circuit
Judge of the second Judicial Circuit;

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Finance.

A bill entitled, an Act to provide for the payment of pen-
sions to Maryland soldiers of the war of 1812, and widows of
deceased soldiers of 1812;

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Pensions.

And returned the following bills:

A bill entitled, an Act for the repayment out of the storage
and outage on tobacco of monies heretofore demanded and re-
ceived by the Inspector of Tobacco, in violation of the Acts of
1864, chapter 346, and 1865, chapter 194,

Endorsed "passed by yeas and nays."
