On motion of Mr. Maddox,
The resignation was accepted.

On motion of Mr. Maddox, it was

Ordered, That S. L. Boothe, be appointed Doorkeeper to
the Senate in the place of B. Mills, resigned.

S. L. Boothe, Doorkeeper, appeared, qualified and entered
upon the discharge of his duties.

On motion of Mr. Maddox, it was

Ordered, That the Committee on Elections be authorized to .
have printed for the use of the Senate, 500 copies of the testi-
mony in the contested election case of Alfred Spates versus
W. H Ohr.

On motion of Mr. Young,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Young, Stephenson and Bil-
lingslea, to report a hill entitled an act, to amend the 15th
Article of the Code of Public Local Laws, relating to the
powers of the Commissioners for Rockville, by adding the fol-
lowing sections, relating to the condemnation of privale pro-
perty, for the purpose stated in said Article, under the head
of Rockville.

On motion of Mr. Vickers,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
to report a bill entitled an Act, to amend the 19th section of
the 24th Article of the Code of Public General Laws, title
conveyancing, authorizing the recording of deeds of convey-
ance, after the time required by law.

Mr. Earle, submitted the following message:

BY THE SENATE,

January 17th, 1867.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

We beg to advise yon that in compliance with the provi-
sions of the Act of Congress, regulating the mode of electing
Senators of the United States, we will meet your Honorable
Body in joint session in the Hall of your own House, at 12
o'clock, M.. to proceed to the discharge of the duties prescrib-
ed therein.

Secretary.

Which was read, assented to, and sent to the House of
Delegates.

On motion of Mr. Bowie, it was
