March 12, 1867.

Gentlemen of the Senate:

We propose with the concurrence of your Honorable Body,
to adjourn this General Assembly sine die, on Friday, 22nd
of March instant, at 12 o'clock Meridian.

BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

Tuesday, March 12, 1867.
Gentlemen of the Senate:

Whereas, a vacancy in the representation of the State of
Maryland, in the Senate of the United States hath happened
during the session of the Legislature, and

Whereas, the Act of Congress 1866, chapter 245, directs
that the Legislature shall proceed to elect a person to fill
such vacancy in the manner prescribed in that Act, on the
second Tuesday after the Legislature shall have been organ-
ized, and shall have notice of such vacancy, we therefore pro-
pose with the concurrence of your Honorable Body, to pro-
ceed to elect a person to fill such vacancy in the manner pre-
scribed in the aforesaid Act of Congress at 12 o'clock, this
day, it being the second Tuesday after this Legislature hath
had notice of such vacancy.

Which was read.

Mr. Mules, from the Committee on Corporations, to which
was referred the bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the Bal-
timore and Hall's Springs Railway Company;

Reported it with the following amendments :

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Amend by striking out the words "steam" whenever it oc-
curs in the bill;

Amend section 15, add after the word "passage," that the
General Assembly reserves to itself the right to amend or re-
peal this Act at pleasure;

The bill was then read a second time.

Mr. Holton, from the select Committee, to which was refer-
red the bill entitled, an Act to add an additional section un-
der the head of Hay and Straw to article 4, of the Code of
