The Senate proceeded to the consideration of the bill entitled,
an Act to secure settlement with the County Commissioners
of the several counties and the Register of the city of Balti-
more for bounty funds paid by the Treasurer of the State into
their hands under the Act of 1864, chapter 15, and also, with
the Maryland State Bounty Commissioners for the said coun-
ties and the city respectively, for bounty funds placed in their
hands under the Acts of 1865, chapters 33 and 106, respec-
tively,
Was read the second time.
Mr. Henkle from the Select Committee reported a bill enti-
tled, an Act to incorporate the Resolute Fire Insuranc Com-
pany of Baltimore,
Which was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed
for a third read.

Gentlemen: A bill was passed by the Senate and sent to
your House entitled, an Act to repeal section 8, of Article 30
of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled, Crimes and
Punishments, and to re-enact the same with amendments ex-
tending the provisions of said section to Somerset, Allegany,
Washington, Anne Arundel, Frederick, Harford, Prince
George's, Baltimore, Talbot, Caroline, Cecil and Worcester
counties. We respectfully ask the return of the bill.

The bill entitled, an Act to empower and authorize the
County Commissioners of Kent county, to erect an Alms
House in said county and to provide for the payment of the
same,
Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.
The bill entitled, an Act to amend the charter of the Kent
county Railroad Company, 'passed January session, 1856,
chapter 148, entitled, an Act to incorporate the Kent county
Railroad Company, to secure the completion of the said Road
by the issuing of additional bonds of the Company, and to
provide for the payment of the State subscription for stock in
said Company, and to waive the State lien,
