The Senate proceeded to the consideration of the bill enti-
tled, an Act to repeal the 4, 7, 15, 16, 20, 26, 213 and 222
sections of the 4th article of the Code of Public Local Laws,
relating to the city of Baltimore, and to the election of Mayor
and members of the City Council of said city;
Pending the reading of which,

The Senate was called.

The Senate resumed the»reading of the Baltimore Mayoral-
ty bill.
Mr. Vickerg submitted the following amendment:
Amend title by inserting after the word "Act in the first
line" the words "to repeal an Act passed at the January ses-
sion in the year 1867 entitled, an Act to repeal the 4, 7, 15,,
16 and 20th sections of the 4th article of the Local Public
Laws of the city of Baltimore relative to the qualifications of
electors in said city, and regulating the terms for holding
elections for Mayor and members of the City Council, and
the terms of and the time for entering upon the duties of said
offices, and to re-enact the same with amendments, and also,
Which was read and adopted.
Mr, Vickers submitted the following amendment:
Amend section 1, line 2 by inserting aiter the word "that"
the following words, "an Act passed at the January session
of the General Assembly of Maryland, 1867 entitled, an Act
to repeal the 4, 7, 15, 16 and 20 sections of the 4th article of
the Public Laws of the city of Baltimore relative to the quali-
fications of electors in said city, and regulating the time for
holding elections for Mayor and the members of the City
Council and the terms of and the times for entering upon the
duties of said offices and to re-enact the same with amend-
ments, be and the same is hereby repealed and also that;"

Amend section 4, line 3, by striking out the words "third
Wednesday of" and insert in lieu thereof the words "third
Wednesday in April;
