On motion by Mr. Waters,

The bill entitled, an Act to repeal Article 71, of the Code
Public General Laws, of the State of Maryland, entitled, Oys-
ters, and to re-enact the same with amendments,

Was made the order of the day for to-morrow at 12 o'clock,

M.

The bill entitled, an Act to pay James Hopkins and Son
for cleansing and restoring portraits of some of the early Gov-
ernors of Maryland,

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The bill entitled, an Act to provide by law for taking and
perpetuating the evidence of the number of persons held to
labor and service in the State of Maryland, and emancipated
by the Constitution adopted in the year 1864, and by whom
such persons were so held;

Being under consideration,

Mr. Maddox submitted the following amendment:

Add to section 2 and further what number remained with
their owners at the time of adoption of the Constitution of
eighteen hundred and sixty-four;

Which was read and adopted.

The bill was then read a second time, and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.

The bill entitled, an Act to add an additional section to
article 29, of the Code of Public General Laws in relation to
Courts;

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

On motion by Mr. Maddox,

The ordinary business was postponed, and the bill entitled,
an Act to further extend the time and provisions of the Act
passed February 6, 1864, chapter - 15 and March 14, 1864.
chapter 373, and the supplements thereto, relating to the pay-
ment of Bounties to Volunteers and drafted men of this State;

Was recommitted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings.

The bill entitled, an Act to add an additional section to
article 29, of the Code of Public General Laws in relation to
Courts;

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The bill entitled, an Act to repeal sections 28 and 29, of
article 18, of the Code of Public General Laws, relating to
Clerks of Courts, and to re-enact the same with amendments;
