Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the Treasurer,
upon the warrant of the Comptroller, be and he
is hereby directed to pay to the managers of the
Union Orphan Asylum of Baltimore city, upon
the draft of the President of said Asylum, the
sum of eighteen hundred dollars per annum, for
the period of ten years, and no longer, for the
benefit of said Asylum. |

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage

AN ACT to add an additional section, under the
head of hay and straw, to article four of the
Code of Public Local Laws entitled "City of
Baltimore," authorizing the purchase and erec-
tion of additional Hay Scales in the said city
and the purchase of a site therefor, and the
appointment of an additional inspector of Hay
and straw. |

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the. General Assembly
of Maryland, That the fourth Article of the Code
of Public Local Laws entitled "City of Baltimore"
be, and it is hereby, amended by adding under the
head of Hay and Straw, the following: |

Anthony Johnson, of Howard County, Rosa
Winans, of Baltimore City, and Joseph Judick,
of Baltimore City, are hereby appointed Commis-
sioners, and as such are authorized and empow-
ered to purchase or lease and fit up in a suitable
manner, a convenient lot of ground for erecting
Scales for weighing Hay and Straw; and the scales
are fixtures necessary for that purpose, which shall
not be situated south of the Frederick turnpike,
west of Mount street, north of Pratt street and east
of the junction of the Franklin and Frederick
turnpike roads. And upon the purchase by said |
