The Senate took up for consideration
The bill entitled, an Act to repeal section 4 of chapter three
of the Act of 1865, chapter one hundred and sixty, en-
itled, "School House sites," and section 1 chapter 1, en-
titled, "sources of income,' of the Act of 1865, chapter 160,
entitled, an Act to add a new article to the Code bf Public
General Laws, to be entitled, public instruction, providing a
uniform system of free public schools for the State of Mary-
land, and to repeal all existing laws inconsistent therewith,
and to re-enact the same with amendments.
Mr. Davis, of Washington, submitted the following
amendment :
Strike out of 3rd section, line 13, the words "or for any
other school purposes," from the word "five," in line 13 to
the word "in," in line 14.
Which was read and adopted.
The bill was then read a second time and ordered to be en-
grossed for a third reading.
