CHAPTER 370.

AN ACT entitled, an Act to provide for the pay-
ment of the claim of Francis A. Prevost, an
assistant clerk in the office of the Clerk of the
Superior Court of Baltimore city under the ad-
ministration thereof by Edward Dowling, late
Chief Clerk.

2,1867.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Alford Mace, the Clerk of the
Superior Court of Baltimore city, be and he is
hereby authorized, empowered and directed to ad-
just the compensation account of Francis A. Pre-
vost, Assistant Clerk in the office of the Clerk of
the Superior Court of Baltimore city during the
administration of the said office by Edward Dow-
ling, former Clerk thereof, and when so adjusted
to pay to the said Francis A. Prevost such sum of
money as he may find to be due him for the ser-
vice so rendered by him out of any surplus
funds accrued or acccruing in said office, and
which would otherwise bo payable into the Trea-

sury for the use of the State; provided, that the
allowance to the said Francis A. Prevost shall not
exceed the sum of one thousand and forty-five
dollars.

Proviso.

Sec. 2. .And be it enacted, That this Act shall
go into effect from the day of the passage thereof

CHAPTER 371.

AN ACT supplementary to Acts passed Febru-
ary third, eighteen hundred and sixty-five,
Chapter thirty-three, and March fourteenth,
eighteen hundred and sixty-five, Chapter one
hundred and six, relating to bounty of volun-
teers and drafted men.
