CHAPTER 365.

AN ACT for the benefit of the Library Company
of the Baltimore gar.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, the library owned by the Library
Company of the Baltimore Bar is capable of con-
fering great benefits upon the State, and has
already become indispensable to the daily adminis-
tration of justice, in the City of Baltimore; and
whereas the said library is enriched with books of
much value, which cannot be found in other parts
of Maryland, and members of the bench and bar
in different counties, as well as other officers of
the State, frequently desire, in the discharge of
their official duties, to consult the books of the
said library: Therefore,

Annual ap-
propriation.

SECTION 1. Be if enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That there shall be annually
appropriated for the use (for two successive years)
of the Library Company of the Baltimore Bar,
the sum of five hundred dollars, to be paid on the
second Monday in January in each year to the
Treasurer of the said company for its use.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That before
this Act shall go into operation, the President
and Directors of the said company shall pass a
resolution authorizing and permitting the Gover-
nor, Lieutenant Governor, the Judges of the
several courts of this State, the members of the
Legislature and officers of each House thereof, the
members of Congress from this State, and all
members of the bar of Maryland, excepting those
whose offices or whose residences are in the City of
Baltimore, free access to the library of said com-
pany, and the right to consult the books thereof
in as free and ample a manner as the members of
the said company, subject however to the same
rules and regulations which now exist, or may
from time to time be passed, governing the mem-
bers of said company.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the sum of five
hundred dollars be and the same is hereby appro-
