CHAPTER 331.

AN ACT to incorporate the Ridge Passenger
Railway Company.

Incorporated.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That John Swan and the owners of
" the Hunting Ridge Villa Sites," or a majority
of them, and the owners of the shares of the stock
hereinafter authorized to be created, be and they
are hereby made a body corporate in law and in
fact, by the name of the Ridge Passenger Railway
Company, and in that name may lay down and
construct and keep in repair a horse passenger
railway along or on the bed of the "old Frederick
road," and may alter the grades where necessary,
for a distance of two miles, to connect with Balti-
more, Catonsville and Ellicott's Mills Passenger
Railway, may place horse passenger cars upon said
"Ridge Passenger Railway," and run the same,
and may have the right to charge and collect fif-
teen cents per head for each passenger.

Board of Di-
rectors.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted. That the management
of the said company shall be vested in a Board of
five Directors, one of whom shall be President, to
be selected by the stockholders in such manner as
the by-laws may prescribe, and the said Board
shall have full power and authority, in the name
of the company, to do all things which may be
necessary and proper to bedone by them as a com-
pany incorporated for the purpose of constructing
and working said railway, and to execute and
carry into effect the powers and privileges herein
granted.

Capital stock.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted. That the capital stock
of said company shall consist of two thousand
shares of twenty dollars each, and that John
Swan and the owners of " the Hunting Ridge Villa
Sites," or a majority of them, may, at such times
and places as they may deem expedient, open books
of subscription therefor.

No banking
privileges.

Sec. 4. And be it enacted. That nothing herein
contained shall be construed to give to said com-
pany banking privileges, and the Legislature re-
