hold ground and buildings on the Northeast side
of Richmond street, opposite Park street, in said
city, to facilitate the accomplishment of the ob-
jects of their association, and they have prayed
this Honorable Body for an Act incorporating
them, which being reasonable and proper, and not
attainable under the general provisions of the
Code in relation to incorporations; therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland aforesaid, That the said Mary Louisa
Noel, Theresa Catherine Willigmann, Marie
Elizabeth Lange, Rosa Bonege, Scholastica Bur-
goin, Ellen Joseph West, Ann Harker, Victoria
Messonnier, Agnes Donelson) Mary Celestine Rey-
nolds, Dominca Thomas, Agatha Waters, Aloy-
sius Waters, Anastasia Brown, Ignatius Jones,
Gertrude Smallwood) Martha Boyd, Mary Vir-
ginia, Mary Bernard Atkins, bo and they are
hereby constituted and made a body corporate for
the objects aforesaid, by the name and style of the
Oblate Sisters of Providence of the city of Balti-
more, and by that name shall have perpetual suc-
cession, with the powers and authority necessary
for incorporated bodies, as set forth in the Code of
General Public Laws, Article twenty-six; and they
and their successors are authorized by by-law to
provide for a continuance of their body by the
election of new members and for their govern-
ment by the appointment of proper officers and
managers.

Incorporated.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said corpo-
ration may purchase, possess and hold real and
personal estate, and sell and transfer the same, or

any part thereof; provided, the property and es-
tate held by the said corporation at any one time
shall not exceed in value fifty thousand dollars.

Proviso.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage, and may
at any time be altered or repealed by the General
Assembly of Maryland.
